From localhost to your next launch.

A self-managed home for websites, web applications and APIs, with resources you can understand.

The first deployment should give you a clear starting point, not a stack you have to unlearn.

A practical small-app setup.

A single VPS can host your reverse proxy, application process and a small database. Orbit 6 is a reasonable configuration to evaluate for this pattern. It is a starting recommendation, not a visitor-count promise: language runtime, plugins, queries and caching change the picture.

WordPress, your way.

You can install WordPress with a compatible PHP runtime, web server and database. You manage updates, caching, TLS and backups. A busy WooCommerce store deserves additional headroom and a backup plan tested against real orders.

APIs and background work.

Keep long-running jobs out of request handlers. Use a process manager, track failed jobs and set sensible resource limits. Monitor response latency together with memory usage, CPU saturation and database query time.

Before you change DNS.

  1. Deploy to a staging hostname and test the full customer journey.
  2. Configure TLS and verify automatic certificate renewal.
  3. Test restore procedures and schedule a backup.
  4. Confirm email delivery through an appropriate provider.
  5. Lower DNS TTL in advance when migrating an existing service.

Worth a conversation: payment processing, customer data, heavy plugins or strict recovery objectives. Plan these before the launch date.
